In 2018, I was diagnosed, told that treatment is just palliative, and given a poor prognosis of 6 months. In 2019, I found out I was misdiagnosed, survived severe pneumonia that placed me in the ICU, and failed treatment twice. I had 13 cycles of chemotherapy, 24 radiation sessions, 2 trips to the OR, 2 trips to the Cath Lab and countless trips to the hospital. To say that the last 2 years have been challenging is an understatement.
Yet, here I am welcoming the new year still with hope. And this, I owe to my family. They are doing everything - making ends meet - to keep me alive. I lost hair, weight, strength, and so much more but I have my family so I know I'll be okay.
The last 2 years were crazy, almost impossible, but God has granted me and my family miracles and I know that this 2020, there will be more. To healing and miracles!
